Ready for Cinco de Mayo?

Mara Hoffman Shorts // Kenneth Jay Lane Necklace // TKees // Thierry Lasry Sunglasses // Bop Basics Tote

Keep it simple this weekend, ladies. What can I say, Mara Hoffman is now a fan fav {in my book} and those shorts are on sale, so yes, you should get them. TKees are so simple and easy, perfect for when you're poolside or running simple errands. That Kenneth Jay Lane necklace is great in so many ways, it would be great paired with a white dress, no? Those sunnies are way out of my price range, but they're so fun and I just had to share. As for the bag, it's a reasonable price and can be used for many things.

Happy Tuesday!

SS '13: Pastels, Neon's & Patterns

1.) Mara Hoffman Dress 2.) Adia Kibur Necklace 3.) Karen Walker Helter Skelter Sunnies 4.) Dannijo Studs
5.) Rebecca Minkoff MAC Wristlet 6.) Ancient Greek Sandals 7.) MAC Lipglass 8.) Chanel Nail Polish

This dress has been popping up everywhere and I love it... pretty sure I need it. Mara Hoffman has been making beautiful prints this SS - from bikinis to dresses. That necklace, well it's insane - especially with a white dress. Karen Walker sunnies are a must, same goes for those Dannijo studs. Everyone loves mint this spring and silver sandals can really make a outfit pop. MAC coral lip glass is a perfect color and I can't get enough of turquoise this spring.

So there's a quick rundown of my "must have's" this week. Like this feature? Comment below and it can easily become a weekly post.

PS - Did anyone see that Rachel Zoe retweeted me last night... it was MAJ. Follow -- @teczabby

Thank You Note Time

Nobody really sends hand written letters anymore which is understandable with all the technology, but it also makes receiving a hand written note even more special! My grandmother sends me a letter maybe once a month and the card is always so pretty and the same goes for her handwriting. The only time I write letters is for birthday cards or thank you notes. With graduation right around the corner thank you notes and letters will be flying out the door. Here are some of my favorites from Sugar Paper

Happy Wednesday!

Currently Craving: Joie Aliso Flat

Sorry for the low number of posts last week, but I really didn't think I could top Molly's post. I mean how great were her answers? I'm starting off this week with this Currently Craving feature. Joie is killing it this Spring/Summer... not only is it full of prints and bead work but it's practical. These Aliso flats are so cool and "hippie chic"... for $225 they can be yours!

Molly McConn // Bridget's Own Diary

MEET MOLLY:
Molly McConn || 20 years young || Student at The University of Texas || Kappa Kappa Gamma

What's one thing you wish you would have known entering college?
It is hard at first. You constantly hear from people in college or graduates that it’s the best four years of your life. I’m pretty much smack dab in the middle of this wild ride and I’m inclined to agree with them, but nobody seems to mention the adjustment period at first. This leads a lot of people into thinking they’re the only ones that aren’t having “the time of their lives” yet. Rest assured--you’re not the only one and you’re also not the only one who doesn’t want to admit it!

What’s the best advice you could give or you’ve ever received?
Worrying does nothing for you. With that being said, I still have to remind myself this multiple times a day. On a lighter note, I also love the mantra for a lady to keep your head, heels and standards high.

How did you deal with homesickness?
Distracting myself! This was simple being surrounded in an all girls’ dorm, having commitments with my sorority and of course, that school thing.

Dorms:
What should all girls have in their closet?
A crisp white and chambray button down oxford one size too big, neutral heels and flats (that are relatively comfortable--the sad truth: nothing that’s super comfortable is that cute), a thick brown leather belt, something dripping in sequins, riding boots in nice leather (splurge on these!), an ample supply of cozy sweaters and loungewear shirts, a really impractical dress that you love seeing in your closet every morning, lenin shorts, a skinny and flare jean, a denim jacket, a loose-fitting blazer, an unconventional color of denim, and a maxi dress and/or skirt

What makes a good college wardrobe?
It really depends on the school/environment. Feel it out or do your research before you start packing. Asking someone that goes there is always a good resource to turn to. Bring your favorite everyday pieces. My stand-bys are gold hoops, pearl studs, a flashy gold earring, my cross necklace, and a watch. Lately, I’ve been dabbling more in bracelets and rings but my collections are still works-in-progress.

What's something we want to bring but shouldn't?
All your extremely fashion-forward accessories--hats, non-everyday sunglasses, lots of bathing suits, colorful blazers, sundresses

Something we cannot have enough of...
Soft loungewear tops from anthropologie, maxi skirts, button-downs, cozy knit sweaters that act as a wearable blanket for trips to the library

What's the best way to wear things multiple ways?
I wear things differently all the time and this is one of my favorite ways to modify my wardrobe without modifying my checking account. I layer differently in the winter. I roll up sleeves all the way, none of the way, or part of the way. I tie my button downs to cinch in my waist. I tuck dresses that are now too short for me into jeans and transform them into tops. I wear belts at the waist and at the hips.

Rush:
Quick tips?
As most things work in life, rush is simply about finding a balance! Don't be afraid to do something that may not necessarily be what all your friends are doing but also do what feels right.

One thing you wished you knew going into it?
IT’S. SO. FUN! Don’t be intimidated by the process.

Rent The Runway or should we use our own clothes?
Use your own. You’ll be wearing the same things once you’re on the other side, so you might as well invest in some timeless pieces. Tell your mom it’s your “going away present!”

Best thing about it looking back?
Having all the fun ahead of me, looking forward to all the things girls kept talking about and knowing I was embarking on such a crazy fun adventure. And bonding with my soon-to-be bestie Mary Elizabeth throughout it all!

Favorite things about being in a sorority:
Parties on your parents’ tab, the best meal plans on campus, and the immediate positive impression it makes on someone when I say “I’m a Kappa”
- Kappa Kappa Gamma! BE THE BEST, GO KKG!

Big thanks to Molly as she wraps up this series!

Coachella Round Up #1

Ah festival wear. A style where you can have layers upon layers, jean cut offs, vests, studs, and neon all going on at once. Here are a few snaps from the first weekend of Coachella. If you follow Free People, The Man Repeller, or Dannijo on Instagram you saw all the magic of Coachella... and probably a lot of ferris wheel photos. So if you're off to a festival soon here's some inspiration as to what you might wear. Oh and is anyone else crazy about the neon yellow bag in the first photo? Leave your thoughts in the comments section!

Missing Mad Men

Sad to announce that I have missed both episodes of the new season of Mad Men. I'm sure Jon Hamm (Don Draper) is looking lovely as ever and the drama is crazy. I've just been way TOO busy lately- I will catch up soon though! Was it good last night? But to catch up, how was everyone's weekend? Mine was mainly spent in the car, but I did get in a full day at the lake which was too perfect.

To get more of Jon Hamm head over to Rolling Stone to read his interview from this months issue!

Currently Craving: Ace & Jig

I first heard about this line when one of my friends was wearing the dress featured above. She said she had just gotten it from Shopbop and I seriously have seen the brand all over the web since then. Bradley from Luella & June featured that tank yesterday and many other bloggers have been chatting about Ace & Jig. So hey I thought I'd join... And it's perfect for Coachella which is the other post I put on the blog today.

Quick Friday Favorites:
+ IndieShuffle, great website, you'll be sure to find your new favorite song there
+ C2C: Down The Road, I've had this on repeat for awhile now
+ Karen Walker Helter Skelter Sunnies
+ Butterfly prints

Happy Friday Everyone!

FF: Coachella Weekend - Looking Back

Yes, it's Coachella weekend. This weekend you're sure to see an Instagram photo or tweet referring to Coachella. And yes that photo/tweet will make you jealous. If you're unfamiliar with Coachella, it's a music festival in southern California. All the celebrities and musicians go and the lineup is absolutely insane. Fashion houses hold exclusive BBQ's and parties all weekend long and it's one big party. My brother went a couple years ago and said it was one of the most memorable and fun times of his life. In the coming years I must make it over there. And I'm going to have to have the proper clothes for it.

Festival Clothes:
+ Lace
+ Fringe
+ Floral
+ Jeans (preferably cut off's)
+ A fedora
+ Printed scarf
+ Cool sunnies  -- Any type of Ray Bans are good
+ Leather sandals
+ Layers upon layers of necklaces and bracelets
+ Crossbody bag

The photos above are some of the celebrities that attended last years event. Next week I'll be sure to feature my favorite looks and maybe link a performance or two. Sound good?

Beachin'

As promised here are the last set of beach photos. I know these aren't as great but hey "life's better at the beach" so they don't have to be top quality.

+ I also want to let everyone know that I read all the comments and love doing so! Keep them coming!
+ Did anyone watch the basketball game last night? It was one of the best games I've ever watched...

Happy Tuesday ~~

Tibi Summer Print: Kaleidoscope

Last spring/summer Tibi released that "coveted like crazy" print - The Arizona print. Bloggers such as Blair Eadie from Atlantic-Pacific were quick to feature the print, and in my opinion it was a hit all summer long. Tibi released several different versions of it during the summer and each one sold out very quickly. However, I was lucky enough to get an Arizona print top on sale towards the end of summer. Yes, I waited until it was on sale because let's face it, to own Tibi you have to pay a pretty penny. So while I'm swooning over this print now, I'll have to wait for a bit of time till I can actually purchase one of these pieces. And if you think the black is too harsh there is a pastel version as well - they also have new daisy prints that are perfectly summer on their site now.

Beach at Night & Friday Faves

I finally got around to taking pictures at the beach! These are from when I went walking around last night! They're weren't too many people out so the beach was pretty empty. I don't know about y'all but I love little beachside towns. The cute little shops and restaurants always have the friendliest staff and are fun to go to. Look for another beach post next week or so!

Friday Faves and Questions:
+ Dannijo's daisies
+ The beach
+ Got my first tub of Cookies & Cream ice cream this week and it was bliss
+ Are y'all still pinning? Should I add a pin-it button so photos are easy to pin from here?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Go: Dannijo Pre-Sale

Dannijo is having a FW '13 Pre Sale on their website right now, so if any of these AMAZING pieces interest you - head over to dannijo.com right this second. {it's today only} I've been seeing these daisies all over their Instagram and I'm sure to have a daisy in my possession by summers end. Well, let's hope. And if you can't pull the trigger today be on the look out for these pieces in the next coming months!

Also, I literally just asked them via comment on Instagram when they would arrive and @Dannijo  responded and said they would deliver in May.

Joie via Song of Style

Aimee Song... this girl is on fire. Blogger, Interior Decorator, Piperlime Editor, I mean what more could you ask for? She has serious style and takes some great photos. I mean have y'all seen her Instagram? This past weekend she posted the photos featured above and when I saw them I knew I had to have them. Maybe not both, but those shorts will one day be mine. I have a serious short addiction and there are currently no support groups for that so I guess I'll keep feeding my addiction. But back to this look, isn't it awesome? Like perfectly Spring/Summer... Joie is killing it this season. I went to go check out this "suit" and ended up on Joie's site for 30 minutes. Floral tops, polka dot dresses, beaded shoes and linen pants were calling my name. So much so I'll be featuring all my Joie favs on here in the next week or so. This is only the beginning but hey, it's a great start.

+ Bradley Agather from Luella & June also featured this Joie blazer on her blog - Luella & June
+ To get these palm printed beauties head over to Joie

It's Wednesday Y'all

Happy Wednesday everyone! Wednesday is one of the more stressful days of the week, but one of my favorites because Nashville comes on. For those of you who don't know it stars Connie Britton (from Friday Night Lights) and Hayden Panettierre. I was a little hesitant to watch because I'm really not a fan of country music, but it has become one of my favorite shows. All of the songs played during the show are original and all the actors are really singing them. Not only has it made me a huge fan of Connie Britton but I've warmed up to country music a little bit more. And Deacon... well he is just fantastic, wouldn't you agree? Will any of y'all be watching tonight?

Oh and if you're a fan of Connie Britton like me you'll love her quick interview with Bon Appetite magazine.

Lastly, SHOPBOP is having a sale and they just reduced lots of great items!
