Gnarly

Ripped jeans are in, but are they here to stay? That's something I'm not too sure of, but I do know that they're always around and available. This year they just happen to be abundant. Bloggers, celebrities (queen of jeans, Jessica Alba), Olivia Palermo and everyday people seem to all be sporting some kind of ripped jeans. Whether it's a skinny style or baggy boyfriend style, it's in. I have a pair of ripped flare jeans (very early 2000's) from Joes that I bought a couple years ago and I'm really thinking it's time I wear them again. Thoughts? 1. I've finally come around to this trend but it took me some time. Having said that, I won't spend a bundle on a pair of destroyed jeans because I do think this look will phase out. The Gap, Old Navy and J.Crew Factory have a ton of reasonable options. I feel most comfortable wearing a skinny pair with flats, a vintage tee and a blazer. But if I were younger, I would totally rock the baggier style with heels and a fun top!

  2. I love the ripped look on other people, but I find it hard to wear myself (especially the baggy jean kind). It tends to only look good on rail-thin women or those without curves. Eh, we'll see how long it lasts.

  3. I like distressed denim, but can’t seem to get on board with massive holes in jeans. Of course Olivia Palermo can pull just about anything off!
