Motivation

A little over a month ago I ordered my first pair of Lululemon pants and for those of you who don't know, Lulu's motto is "sweat once a day and/or #thesweatlife." When I opened up my package a little slip of paper with their motto fell out and it made me think about how I rarely exercised. The next day I went to the rec (my university's gym) and did some cardio for 30 minutes. Since then I've gone every single day, for longer periods of time, pushed my self harder and tried new things. A little over two weeks ago I decided that I was going to run. I am not a runner, have never been a runner, and have honestly never seen myself as a runner, so this was a big deal for me. When I hopped on the treadmill I set it to 5.something and started to run... I only lasted 7 minutes. It was rough and made me feel so out of shape. So each day since I've been running and pushing myself to further distances. Yesterday was a pretty big day. I started on the treadmill and ran a 10 minute mile (kinda slow and easy, nothing too crazy) then walked for .5 mile and I wanted more, I wanted to run more. (craziness). So I put the speed on 6.0 and ran. I covered the time and distance tracker with a towel and just ran until I wanted to stop. Turns out I ran for twenty minutes and a little over two miles. That may seem easy to some, but for me it was a big deal and I felt as if I needed to share it. Happy Tuesday! image via lululemon

  1. Way to go! I love to run, but I'm like you, I definitely don't think I can run for a long time. I always sell myself short. As long as I'm not paying attention to the timer, you can always go for longer! Keep up the good work!!

  2. I'm not a runner either, but you have me motivated! Good luck on your test.
