Canadian Tuxedo





















































Hey everyone, hope this Monday is treating you well! To start off the week I thought I'd confess something. I am a fan of the denim on denim look - the "Canadian Tuxedo" if you must. I know it's a lot of denim, but I've always been a fan of jeans, from shorts to jackets, so why not wear it all? I am not suggesting that everyone starts dressing like Britney and Justin circa 2001, but I think a little denim on denim can be a great look! What do you think, would you ever try it? Personally, I think I'd do a light chambray and ripped denim like the always fabulous Olivia Palermo did.

Whew! This week flew by, don't ya think? I didn't make it to the beach as much as I would have liked, but hopefully next week I'll be able to go! Father's Day Gift Guide




























































































Father's Day is right around the corner - this Sunday to be exact! So don't forget to get your dad something special! I have a few things planned for when my dad comes in town, but all of these are great gifts if you're struggling to figure something out for your dad. In fact, they've all been approved by my dad. While he loves them all, he's eyeing the Frank Clegg leather duffle. As for my other picks he swears by Kiehls moisturizer because he travels so much. He is also a devoted fan of Allen Edmonds - he refuses to wear any other kind and has several pairs, including the ones I featured. Lastly, he is a huge fan of Suits, if you haven't watched it, we highly recommend it!

Brighten Up


I posted this photo on my Instagram a couple weeks ago and whenever I need a pick me up I look at this photo! It's so bright and colorful and it fuels my new obsession with succulents. 

However, that is not what this post is about. It is about trying new things and being positive. Starting this blog was a huge step out of my comfort zone, but I'm so glad that I did. I do take TBB seriously, but not too seriously! ...because blogging is supposed to be fun, right? Having said that, TBB means a lot to me and I hope it will eventually mean a lot to others! 

So, with the arrival of the new TBB upon us - I was told it will be next week (fingers crossed) - I would like to turn it over to all of you. What do you want to see on here? ... see less of, or more of! I've already thought of a couple things... more photos, less collages, but I want to hear from all of you!

We're four days into June and I haven't properly welcomed the month in so I thought this would be the best way to-do so! 10 things that I love about June!

T E N   T H I N G S : 

 1 S'more Season. This really doesn't even need to be explained, I mean, who doesn't like s'mores?!
2 Peonies. They are just beautiful, don't ya think?
3 Father's Day! My dad and I look very much alike, so I can't wait to have my twin home for daddy's day!
4 All White. I love all white ensembles! From jumpsuits to dresses and skirts and tops, all white in a June must do.
5 Summer time dresses are the best. Don't get me wrong I love all types of dresses, but summer frocks are my favorite.
6 Sunny Weather. As many of y'all know I'm spending the summer at my parent's beach house and so far June's temps have been quite nice.
7 Beach Days, simple and easy.
8 Paddleboarding. I am obsessed. I could do it everyday, especially when there's dolphins!
9 Root Beer Floats. OMG, I love a good root beer float!
And last, but certainly not least, 10. The new TBB debuts!!!!!

The Best




















































I finally made the chocolate chip cookies that Emily swears by and oh my goodness gracious are they good. Perfectly crisp, yet chewy and gooey - pretty much everything you would ever want in a cookie. If you haven't tried out this recipe yet, I highly suggest you do. They truly are the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. Trust me on this one! If you want a more detailed recipe, click here.

Blue Bike


















































This weeks FF photo immediately caught my eye because my mom and I have recently picked up biking. She got a fabulous bike for mothers day and the whole fam is obsessed with it - it's a precious blue beach cruiser, it even has a cute little basket. I'll try to snap a pic of it and put it on Instagram.

Also, a little news about the new TBB. I don't have a confirmed debut date, but it's in the coding process and it should be next week. Fingers crossed because I absolutely love it and cannot wait to share it with all of you!

Road Trip Essentials

















































Summer is road trip season in my humble opinion so I thought I'd put together my road trip essentials. Trust me I've been on quite a few road trips... Alabama to Washington state and Washington state to Louisiana were the longest though. Why would a family ever drive that you might ask? Well, our family dog, Blackie, is just too loved to be put on a plane (he's too big to fit under a seat so he would have to be put underneath) so we drove across the country for him.

Enough about Blackie and back to my road trip essentials!

  • Good music. Preferably sing a long music, songs that you know every word to. Let's be honest it's fun to belt out your favorite song. 
  • Snacks. No brainer here, you get hungry (and bored) when you're just sitting in the car for hours. 
  • A good book and a pillow - if you're not driving! Snuggle up, start reading and the time will pass on by. 
  • Get creative if worst comes to worst. My mom and I usually play name games... New York or San Francisco? Or who would you rather be neighbors with... Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds or Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen?  
Lastly, I have some big news for y'all! The new TBB debuts next Monday!!!

Memorial Day



























































Memorial day is this coming Monday so I thought I'd round up some of the things I'll be wearing this weekend and some things that I want to be wearing! 

I will hopefully be wearing that embroidered and smocked Topshop dress, I ordered it last night so fingers crossed it comes in! Isn't it adorable? Very affordable too, ringing in at $72! I wish I was wearing that J.Crew bikini, but luckily I just purchased an equally (if not cuter) suit. And I also wish I was wearing blister free shoes. My feet are covered in blisters and all I want is a pair of sandals that don't blister my feet! One thing I will have this weekend though is a beach tote! When you live a block from the beach, a big and sturdy bag is a must have!

Florals All Year?




























































































Wear Now, Wear Later. An easy way to look at trendy pieces and decide whether or not they will be "wear once" pieces.

First up, this incredible Lover lace skirt. Wear now with a pastel silk blouse or a classic white and wear later (fall and winter) with a leather jacket, tights, and booties. I know I would be able to wear this skirt all year long.

Next is this adorable Tory Burch dress and it's a wear now only dress. Sorry, but it was just too precious to pass up!

Metallic sunflowers, yes please! This Topshop skort immediately caught my eye. I would wear this now with strappy sandals and a breezy tank and later (fall) with a chunky knit and booties.

Lastly and maybe my favorite floral piece is this dreamy Topshop tea dress. I love that the print is a little blurry and muted! Wear now with a thick sandal (maybe a Birkenstock if you're into the #normcore trend) and wear later with a leather jacket and booties, preferably Rag & Bone booties. Yep, this dress is definitely my favorite, oh and it rings in at $100!

Blueberry Cake Bars










































I love a dessert that doubles as a breakfast treat. Behold these yummy blueberry {breakfast} cake bars. Loaded with fresh blueberries this might be my new go-to blueberry recipe... it's that good. I used this wonderful recipe from Alexandra Cooks and it turned out so good! It's super easy to make and it doesn't get dry and crumbly after a day like many muffin or cake recipes I've tried. I made these last Friday night and even this morning they're still delicious and moist. Hope you enjoy!
